Why Bed Adhesion Matters
Poor bed adhesion is the #1 cause of failed 3D prints. Here's everything you need to know.
Build Plate Materials
- PEI Sheet: The gold standard. Our ANTINSKY Cold PEI Build Plate offers excellent adhesion when heated and self-releases when cool.
- Glass: Smooth mirror finish. Needs glue stick or hairspray for adhesion.
- Spring Steel + PEI: Flexible platform, easy part removal.
Troubleshooting Guide
- Won't stick: Nozzle too far → lower Z-offset by 0.05mm
- Elephant foot: Nozzle too close → raise Z-offset
- Warping: Draft or low bed temp → use enclosure
- Stringy first layer: Nozzle too cold → increase 5-10°C
Adhesives by Material
- PLA: PEI sheet (no adhesive needed) or glue stick on glass
- PETG: PEI + release agent (glue stick)
- ABS: ABS slurry on glass or PEI at 100-110°C
- TPU: Blue painter's tape or PEI
