Orient Every Part at an Angle

The single highest-impact habit is to tilt the model. A part standing flush to the build plate or running parallel to it creates a huge layer area on every slice. Rotate it 20–45° on both axes so each layer's footprint is smaller and staggered. The benefits:

  • Add supports to the lowest points first, then work upward, never leaving a detail hanging
  • Use thicker contact points on heavy parts, and lighter ones on fine detail so they snap off cleanly
