Essential 3D Printer Maintenance: Keep Your Machine Running Like New

Regular Maintenance Extends Printer Life

Like any precision machine, your 3D printer needs regular maintenance.

Daily

  • Check build plate cleanliness (wipe with isopropyl alcohol)
  • Inspect first layer quality
  • Remove filament debris from extruder gear

Weekly

  • Clean and lubricate Z-axis lead screws
  • Check belt tension
  • Inspect nozzle for wear

Monthly

  • PID tuning (hotend and bed)
  • Replace nozzle if needed (hardened steel for abrasive filaments)
  • Clean heat break and heat sink
  • Lubricate linear rails/rods

Nozzle Care

Replace brass nozzles every 2-3kg of filament. For abrasive filaments, use hardened steel or tungsten nozzles. Our ANTINSKY tungsten nozzles last 5x longer than brass and offer excellent thermal conductivity.
