How to Choose the Right Nozzle for Your 3D Printer

Nozzle Selection Guide

The nozzle is the final gate your filament passes through. Choosing the right one matters more than you think.

Nozzle Materials

  • Brass: Best thermal conductivity, affordable. Replace every 2-3kg. NOT suitable for abrasive filaments.
  • Hardened Steel: Wear-resistant, lasts 10x longer than brass. Slightly less conductive. Good for carbon fiber, glow-in-the-dark.
  • Tungsten: Premium option. Excellent thermal conductivity + extreme wear resistance. Our ANTINSKY tungsten nozzles last 5x longer than hardened steel.
  • Ruby/Plated: Very hard surface, expensive. For continuous abrasive printing.

Nozzle Sizes

  • 0.2mm: Ultra-fine detail, very slow
  • 0.4mm: Standard all-purpose (most common)
  • 0.6mm: Good balance of speed and detail
  • 0.8mm-1.0mm: Fast printing, functional parts, thick layers

When to Replace

  • Inconsistent extrusion or under-extrusion
  • Visible wear on the tip
  • Scratched or damaged orifice
  • After printing 2-3kg of standard filament
