Stop Fighting Bed Adhesion
By Inno Uncle
If you're using glue sticks, painter's tape, or hairspray on your 3D printer bed, you're doing it wrong. A PEI (polyetherimide) build plate is the single best upgrade you can make — and ANTINSKY's PEI plates are engineered for consistent, hassle-free adhesion across PLA, PETG, ABS, and TPU.
How PEI Works
PEI is a thermoplastic that becomes slightly tacky when heated. At printing temperature (50-110°C depending on material), it grips the first layer firmly. When cooled to room temperature, the part releases easily — often popping off by itself. No chemicals, no scraping, no residue.
ANTINSKY PEI Plates: What Makes Them Different
- Dual-sided: One textured side for maximum adhesion, one smooth side for a glass-like bottom finish
- Spring steel core: Flexible enough to pop prints off with a gentle bend
- Pre-cut sizes: Exact fits for Bambu Lab A1/A1 Mini/P1S/X1C, Creality K1/Ender, Elegoo Neptune, and Anycubic printers
- Magnetic base included: Quick swap between plates — no clips, no tape
- Scratch-resistant coating: Survives hundreds of prints without degradation
PEI vs Glass vs Stock Plates
- PEI (ANTINSKY): Best adhesion, no glue required, flexible removal. Rating: 9/10
- Textured PEI (stock): Good adhesion, decent removal. Rating: 7/10
- Glass: Smooth bottom finish but requires glue stick for PETG/ABS. Rating: 6/10
- BuildTak/PEX: Good adhesion but wears out in 50-100 prints. Rating: 5/10
Pro tip: For PETG on PEI, apply a thin layer of glue stick as a release agent — PETG bonds TOO well to PEI and can damage the surface without it.
