PLA+ — the Everyday Superstar

PLA+ Filament is easy to print, has great layer adhesion and looks clean at moderate speeds without an enclosure. Its limit is heat: leave it in a summer car and it softens. Choose PLA+ for prototypes, display pieces, lithophanes and anywhere aesthetics beat temperature.

PETG — Stronger and Kitchen-Friendly

PETG sits at the sweet spot of strength, a little flexibility and better heat tolerance than PLA. It resists water and handles everyday knocks, which makes it the default for brackets, hooks, phone stands and outdoor-adjacent parts. It asks for slightly higher bed and nozzle temperatures and drier filament, but rewards you with toughness.

ABS — the Engineering Classic

ABS brings real impact and heat resistance and is the resin many functional, automotive and product parts want. It demands more: a roughly enclosed chamber to stop warping, good ventilation, and patience with bed adhesion. If you keep it in an enclosure, the durability payoff is genuine.

TPU — When It Needs to Flex

TPU 85A is the material for anything that must bend or grip: phone cases, gaskets, vibration dampers, custom seals. It flows slowly and likes a direct-drive or reliably fed extruder with a slower print speed, but its flexibility is something no rigid plastic can replace.

Don't Fight the Material

The biggest mistake is forcing one spool to do every job. Keep a roll of PLA+ for quick, pretty prints; PETG for durable everyday function; ABS for heat and impact; and TPU for flex — and the right part is always just a spool swap away.
