FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling)
Strengths:
- Larger build volumes at lower cost
- Wide range of engineering materials
- Functional, durable parts
- Lower material cost per gram
Limitations: Visible layer lines, less detail for small features.
Resin (SLA/DLP/LCD)
Strengths:
- Superior detail and surface finish
- Ideal for miniatures, jewelry, dental models
- Smooth surface straight off the printer
Limitations: Smaller build volumes, messy post-processing, higher material cost.
