Understanding Resin 3D Printing

Resin 3D printing uses photopolymerization to create highly detailed parts. Three main technologies dominate.

SLA (Stereolithography)

A UV laser traces each layer. Most accurate parts with smoothest finish, but slower than other methods.

DLP (Digital Light Processing)

Uses a digital projector to cure entire layers at once. Faster than SLA, resolution depends on pixel count.

LCD/MSLA

Uses an LCD screen as a mask. Most popular consumer technology — excellent value with high resolution at lower cost.
