The Cheap Print: Why ABS and ASA Warp Without an Enclosure
You can print ANTINSKY PLA+ on an open desk with the window open and it will behave. But the moment you switch to ANTINSKY ABS — or its UV-stable cousin ASA — the story changes. Those materials shrink as they cool, and a draught across the build plate is enough to curl the corners and split the part.
What an Enclosure Actually Fixes
An enclosure traps heat around the build volume, slowing the cooling curve so the printed plastic keeps a more even temperature. That even temperature is what stops the differential shrinkage that causes warping and poor layer adhesion on tall ABS parts.

Venting Is Part of the Job
ABS and ASA release more volatile fumes than PLA or PETG. If you print them, run a carbon filter, vent the room, or place the printer near an open window. Never rely on breathing those fumes in a closed office — even if the chamber keeps the warping away.
Practical Setup Tips
- Preheat the chamber for 10–15 minutes before starting an ABS first layer.

- Keep the room free of moving air while printing — doors and windows closed.
- Use a brim or a skirt with more loops for tall ABS models.
When You Can Skip the Enclosure
For unstinted use of ANTINSKY PETG, an enclosure is optional — PETG warps far less than ABS. And if you mainly need flexibility, ANTINSKY TPU 85A prints happily open-air with a gentle handling of the filament path.
Bottom line: buy an enclosure only when your material list outgrows PLA and PETG — and pair it with a venting plan before you ever load ABS.
